Mediated Custody Agreements
Putting Your Children First
It is conflict that harms children – not the divorce. Perkovich Law Offices offers a way for parents to reach agreements about their children that avoid conflict and court intervention. Parents can sit down with one of the attorneys at Perkovich Law Offices to establish a mutually agreeable parenting plan, financial responsibilities related to children, a custody schedule and resolution of any other disputes regarding children.
This process can be used for parents going through a divorce or parents who have already been through a divorce and need to modify their custody agreements.
Parents also have the option of including a Child Specialist in the mediation. A Child Specialist is a mental health professional trained to work with children in divorce. If the parents choose, the Child Specialist can meet with the child individually and bring the child’s voice and the child's needs into the decision making process.
Agreements can be filed with the court, when necessary.
Parents can participate with or without independent counsel.
Benefits of Mediated Custody Agreements:
- Focus on the best interests of the child
- Create solutions that work for your unique family
- Establish a healthy co-parenting relationship
- Time and cost efficient
- Avoid court intervention
